Testing Experience

As part of a complete package from concept to delivery Lawson Engineers test all equipment leaving our Carlisle works before delivery to customers. This practice has lead to development of both the facilities and experience required to carry out extensive testing of mechanical and hydraulic equipment.

Facilities

The following short list includes some of the regular testing activities that we carry out.

• Winch testing

• Rope/cable spooling*, including spooling under representative tension**
*Loaded reel capacity:
Mass up to 33Te,
Diameter up to 3.6m,
Width up to2.5m
**Tension variable by wrap/layer =20Te

• Mechanical termination of wire ropes and cables including load test

• Hydraulic pull testing of structures

• Padeye load testing

• Pre and post test magnetic particle inspection

• Hydraulic oil particulate contamination testing

• On and off site testing of lifting equipment (Overhead hoists etc.)
